Permanently closed. Like most tourist attractions in this place the jetty had been neglected to the point where it isn't safe to walk anymore. The museum was closed as well despite the sign saying it should be open. The walking trail is even on disrepair where we found a sign lying on the ground and the walking bridge between the town and this island clearly having seen better days. It would not surprise us if that is closed soon as well.

A pleasant place to enjoy lunch in the sun overlooking the historic One Mile Jetty. Dog friendly.A short walk across the sand dunes to the mouth of the mighty GASCOYNE River, which only a short distance inland is dry. This amazing upside down river only flows a few times a year, but it’s artesian flow provides the water for the extensive market gardens along its banks. The Food Bowl of WA

With all the history associated with this jetty it's a shame not to be allowed on it due to safety reasons. We saw people getting on it from the middle and doing some fishing. There's still a cafe there and a couple of walks to do. There's two Museums to check out as well. Lots of old rusty machines to see.If this review has been helpful please like it.

The jetty is closed off and not accessible to the public. Ancient bits of machinery are interesting, as are some of the items in the big shed.

Very helpful for the few queries we had on some points of interest we wanted to see. A pity the One Mile Jetty is closed

Coffee was good and so was the ice cream. Best of all it was open late Saturday afternoon. Worth the drive to visit.

So sad the shire hasn't got behind fixing up this great piece of local history as it would be a great tourist attraction.
